Seton Williamson is the largest and only faith-based hospital in Williamson County with the capacity for 181 beds and plans to expand to more than 350 beds in the future.Unique to the Seton family, Seton Williamson was planned around the concept of "experience design"-the systematic design and consistent delivery of positive, personal and memorable experiences for our patients and their families at every stage of the care process and from every hospital contact. Great care and thought went into every detail of the hospital from the décor to the hand-picked staff who undergo special training on how to communicate and relate with patients.Innovative design elements come together with leading edge technology to create a peaceful and warm environment in which patients and families can heal and find comfort. Unique design elements include a healing garden, waterscape, nature-inspired interiors, specially selected art and a free-standing chapel with a reflection room. The Seton Williamson staff is committed to quality care and patient satisfaction.

Good Posture-The Key to a Healthy Spine and Pain-Free Living  I'm sure everyone's mother told them to stand up straight.  But why?  The anatomical implications of poor posture are greater than most women realize.  Many of the aches and pains women experience are related to poor posture even though the pain may not be in their back.  Headaches, shoulder pain, numbness and tingling down arms and legs,  TMJ problems, tight muscles and hip pain are just some of the areas poor posture can effect.  To make matters worse, chronic poor posture  leads to musculoskeletal deformities which will limit our function as we age.  During our interactive session together, we will consider:              Ø  What is correct posture,   Ø  How and why poor posture effects so many anatomical regions,   Ø  What challenges women face to maintain good posture, and

Ø  Ways to promote and maintain good posture and spine health.

I hope you will join me for a fun, interactive and practical discussion about posture!                 Danielle Owens, BBA, MBA, MPT  Danielle Owens is the Site Manager for Rehabilitation Services for Seton Medical Center Williamson and the North Market.    She manages Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists in multiple care settings ranging from hospital care provided at SMCW to outpatient adult and pediatric services provided at the Cedar Park, SMCW or Pflugerville locations.   Danielle received her Master's of Physical Therapy degree from Chapman University in Orange, CA where she majored in Spine Anatomy.  She is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist and is working to prevent patient handling injuries at Seton Medical Center Williamson.
