USA Mrs. Texas 2025 - Elaine Mingus
Elaine Mingus serves as United States of America’s Mrs. Texas 2025, a devoted wife and mother of seven children. Her powerful story of overcoming childhood sexual abuse, bulimia, and heroin addiction has inspired countless individuals to rise from even the darkest situations and to share their own stories of healing and resilience.
Elaine works with numerous nonprofits, including Not On Our Watch Texas and Room Redux. Not On Our Watch Texas is a global organization dedicated to combating online child exploitation. They aim to partner with organizations like the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children while equipping parents with tools to protect their children from unmonitored internet access. Room Redux focuses on post-trauma care, transforming spaces where abuse occurred, creating environments where children can heal more fully.
Additionally, Elaine partners with Zonta of Austin, working to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide by addressing critical issues such as sexual violence, gender inequality, child marriage, and climate-related barriers to education.
As a passionate speaker and tireless advocate, Elaine is committed to creating a safer world for her own children and for children everywhere. Professionally, she runs a vintage furniture company, CurbVulture, which preserves history by rescuing pieces destined for landfills. With 12 million tons of furniture discarded annually, Elaine combats waste while restoring furniture for future generations. Through her online masterclasses and courses, she teaches others how to repair and restore furniture, sharing her expertise and passion for sustainability. A runway veteran who has walked in New York Fashion Week, she also volunteers with Austin’s Slow Fashion Fest to champion sustainable fashion.
Elaine’s life is a testament to the power of resilience, advocacy, and action, inspiring others to rise above adversity and create meaningful change.
